North Carolina Massage School to Offer Massage Teacher Training Course Refresher

Are you considering teaching massage therapy, but wondering if your skills are really ready? If so, then you need the right training. North Carolina Massage School has offered Teaching! Getting Started or Teacher Training Intensive  in the past, and now we are pleased to offer a follow-up refresher Massage Teacher Training Course. The new course will be held August 10 and August 11 at our Cornelius campus, and will provide a refresher on the Teaching! Getting Started and Teacher Training Intensive material, as well as more in-depth instruction on how to effectively teach massage.

What the Course will Teach
The course will give massage teachers and those who wish to become massage teachers better instructional skills through review and follow up instruction on the previous course materials. It refreshes everything taught in the previous courses, and repetition aids learning! This means that teachers will be able to focus again on what they have learned, refresh their skills and better prepare for a career in the classroom.

Specifically, the refresher course focuses on teaching in the massage therapy field and will provide information about course planning, syllabus creation, curriculum and instructional techniques. Students will walk away armed to be more effective in their instructional presentation.

The Details of the Course
The course starts at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 10. The first day of classes runs until 6:00. Training resumes the following morning at 9:30 a.m. and is over at 12:30. Nancy Toner Weinberger will teach the course. Upon completion, students will earn seven continuing education credits. They will also have all of the teacher training requirements to teach in North Carolina massage schools.

The Prerequisites
The course is open to current teachers and teacher’s aids in massage schools or licensed massage therapists who are interested in pursuing a teaching position and have a minimum of two years of active massage therapy experience. In order to attend the August 10 and 11 session, students need to have completed Teaching! Getting Started or Teacher Training Intensive. Those who have not can take Teacher! Getting Started on August 8 and 9.

The Cost
Instructor Nancy Toner Weinberger wants to give teachers a chance to refresh their skills and get the continuing education credits they need. Because it is a review and refresher course, this course is offered for a discounted $100 rate.

If you are interested in attending the upcoming Teacher Training Class, spots are expected to fill quickly. Contact North Carolina Massage School to reserve your spot, so you can get the continuing education credits you need.
