CLASS OVERVIEW

“What the cup!?!”™️ is a fresh introduction into the world of cupping massage from an orthopedic perspective. Students will easily learn the basics of cupping therapy including techniques for specific orthopedic conditions, the science behind cupping and injury, marketing for cupping therapists, application, documentation, safety and much, much, more.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Dr. Joi is both a licensed massage therapist and a licensed physical therapist who successfully fuses the science of orthopedics with the art and intuition of massage. Her down to earth and laid back teaching style make learning easy.
Upon completion of this class students will be able to immediately apply the skills and knowledge learned in class to current and future clients. They will increase their cupping knowledge, improve palpation, assessment and treatment skills, learn specific marketing tips to increase visibility, profit and most of all enhance their awesomeness!

TISSUE ISSUES
When an injury occurs, the body initiates a cascade of healing processes in attempts to fix the injured area. The aftermath of this injury/healing cycle often leaves swelling, torn, stretched or damaged tissues, adhesions, pain, limited motion and a host of other complications. Reducing ‘tissue issues’ is the main goal to eliminating pain and impairments. Cupping therapy effectively and efficiently reduces these issues and restores proper function to the movement system.

WHY TAKE THIS COURSE?
•Learn cupping therapy from an advanced orthopedic perspective
•Master basic and intermediate cupping skills to immediately and successfully treat current and future clients
•Understand the physiology of both injury and cupping and how they relate
•Become proficient at cupping documentation to easily reproduce successful treatments
•Become confident using cupping therapy for any type of orthopedic injury
•Excel at marketing to build and expand your cupping brand and profits

WHAT TO BRING
To allow full participation in clinical labs please bring the following: table linens, towels, lotions/creams and dress in comfortable, loose clothing (i.e. t-shirts, shorts, tank tops, athletic pants, etc.). Silicone cupping sets will be provided for all students to use.
