This interactive one day workshop utilizes information in the The Ethics of Touch textbook. It will include the historical point of view as well as the many types of dual relationships. We as practitioners must be aware of the inherent risks and how to minimize concerns through the higher degree of awareness this course facilitates. This course will have discussion, role playing and determining a course of action in real-life scenarios.

Please bring a notebook, pencil and highlighter.

Benefits for massage and bodywork therapist:

1. A higher awareness of their own boundaries and how to communicate them with their client.

2. A more mature determination of when to enter and successfully navigate through a dual relationship.

Learning Objectives: The participant will:

1. Describe the significant principles surrounding dual relationships.

2. Create structure within the dual relationship.

3. Apply knowledge of dual relationships to solve dilemmas through role-play.
